BES 6th graders have been investigating and analyzing how rock distribution, fossils, landforms, continental shapes, and seafloor structures give us information on how Tectonic Plates have moved in the past. This week's investigation was based on plate boundaries and how these movements can cause the formation of landforms, continental shapes, seafloor structures, and drive the rock cycle. To see these plate movements in action, students used Oreos to build them! Multiple students had "Aha" moments during this process, as they discovered that these plate movements caused formation of seafloor structures, and they discovered the missing piece of evidence from Alfred Wegener's theory of the Continental Drift that they had been looking for! #BarnumBombers
